  • The vigilance cell of Local Bodies Department has searched the records of Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT). In addition to this, they inspected old cases of building by-laws violation of Friends Regency, Nagpal Regency and another showroom at Shimlapuri.

The vigilance team is inspecting records of these hotels for the last many years and even once, stairs of Friends Regency were also broken but they were made again. However, no action has been taken till date on the violators except the inspections by the officers.

In LIT, the team had come to search the records of those employees who are know to have income beyond their means. Pritam Singh, Superintendent, was questioned and even his asset details were searched. The team took many records in their custody.

It is learnt that most of the LIT staff remained absent from duties on Wednesday after rumours of impending vigilance team raid did the rounds of the office. However in the end it proved to be a false alarm.
