Singh said that Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel has accepted this decision. He asserted that BJP will form the next government in Delhi.

Also present on the occasion was BJP patriarch L K Advani who said,”BJP’s first victory was the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat. So this city is important to us.”

“The party has grown in national politics after it won the Delhi polls,” Advani added.

Goelhad met top brass of BJP including Rajnath Singh,Narendra Modi and Sushma Swaraj on Sunday and expressed his serious opposition to Vardhan’s candidature, arguing nearly 10 opinion polls had projected him as the most popular face for BJP’s chief ministerial candidate.
