VIPs pay darshan in style while masses left to jostle in queue

Even for paying obeisance at the Mansa Devi Shrine,VVIPs and VIPs of the region are looking for shortcuts. While commoners have to wait for hours to pay obeisance at the temple,VIP’s do it in less time and no trouble.

“We have so far distributed nearly 15,000 VVIP’s and VIP passes for paying darshan at the Mansa Devi Temple,” said the City Magistrate Panchkula and the Mela Officer,Vandana Disodia. “We have two counters for issuing VIP passes.”

Unlike ordinary people who have to wait in two queues for their turn for hours to enter the temple,the VIP’s have a separate entrance and a queue for paying obeisance.

“These VIP’s do not have to jostle around and they get a different treatment. They should also come in the same line like the commoners,” said Sanjeev,a resident of Rohtak,Haryan who was waiting at the queue for two hours to pay obeisance. “These high profile people are taking shortcuts for darshan which is not good.”

Sources said that the Shrine Broad is receives written requests from various politicians,bureaucrats for the VIP passes daily. At times they are also seen at the temple counter to collect their VIP passes.

Besides passes,the Shrine Board also issues parking passes to VVIP’s to ensure that they don’t face any parking hassles while visiting the shrine.

According to the Mansa Devi Shrine Board,there is high demand for the VVIP and VIP passes for performing obeisance. In the first five days,after the festival began,nearly 3.5 lakhs devotees have visited the Shrine.
