Those who watched the film at a special screening arranged for leaders of the protests, however, are not convinced. According to Ahmed Fakruddin, state executive council member of the Popular Front of India, "It portrays Muslims as a barbaric group who are culturally and civilisationally regressive, and equates beard, headgear and prayers as symbols of terror. This is more like a propaganda documentary made by a virulent filmmaker in America." Among the issues that the community leaders raised include a dialogue that states that Mullah Omar, who became the leader of al Qaeda after the killing of Osama bin Laden, had taken refuge in Coimbatore and Madurai.

"It is now widely accepted that terrorism has no religion. But this film has ascribed it to the Muslim community, from which it is clear that he doesn't know what Islam is or its teachings," alleged BIS Gani, the state media convenor of SDPI.
