VMC blacklists three contractors for delay in projects

The orders have been issued by VMC city engineer against contractors Dayal Builders,Vipul Dave,and Viren Constructions.

“They were given several verbal and written reminders but there was no progress in the projects. We have not blacklisted them forever but we have seized their deposits and now they will have to find another contractor to complete the pending works,” said a senior official.

Though VMC is busy serving reminders to contractors,the fact is despite being aware of the delay,the civic officials are not becoming proactive and make city roads ‘digging work free’.

“We have been raising this issue in the general board meeting and even in the standing committee meetings. If the contractors,who are now being served notices are not responding properly and initiating the work,they should be sacked soon after the stipulated deadline instead of giving them soft reminders,” said the Opposition leader in VMC.
