The passengers of a Haryana Roadways Volvo bus were reportedly left stranded for nearly 20 minutes at the ISBT, Sector 17, after Haryana Education and Transport Minister Mange Ram Gupta arrived late.

Even as Haryana Roadways’ officials downplayed the incident saying the delay was only for a few minutes, the passengers had a different story to narrate.

“The bus started nearly 20 minutes late. Why should they wait for a minister, when no such leverage is offered to passengers,” said Vikrant Sharma, a passenger on the same bus.  

Haryana Roadways’ General Manager K L Kalson, however, maintained: “The minister had a flight scheduled from Delhi to Kolkata. He, therefore, chose to avail of our Volvo bus services. The claims of the passengers are false as the bus was delayed only by a few minutes. This happens in normal cases.”
