With the school fee hike becoming a major issue of contention for financially underprivileged parents,Minister for Education Arvinder Singh Lovely on Thursday hinted at the possibility of the government giving out vouchers to help them bear the additional burden.
Speaking at a press conference organised by the School Choice Campaign,Lovely said: The Delhi government will use the voucher idea soon to help poor parents cope with the increase in fees as a result of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations. The Centre for Civil Societys flagship project,the School Choice Campaign,launched Indias first school voucher project in Delhi in 2007 to press the government for reforms and implement an education voucher programme.
