  • An Air India flight with Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan, two of his Cabinet colleagues and 148 other passengers made an emergency landing at the international airport here after one of the engines developed a problem.

The Kochi-Delhi flight IC 466 carrying 151 passengers had to land here after the pilot detected the snag. The passengers were informed that they would land in Nagpur airport 10 minutes before the flight landed around 10.10 a.m.

There were reports of passengers hearing a big noise before landing and that one of the engines had failed. The Area Marketing Manager I J K Dhas, however, said no noise was heard and the landing was smooth. All passengers including the CM, and ministers Premchandhran and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan were taken to Delhi by a special plane around 2.15 pm.
