There are the wine-sipping connoisseurs who would confidently walk into an art gallery. And there are the rest, the curious bunch interested in art who find it intimidating to visit art galleries. Now, online art magazine Artinfo India has come up with an event that takes the uninitiated art enthusiasts on a curated gallery-hopping tour through South Mumbai's galleries. The first walk took place on November 8 and it is likely to become a monthly affair. "There are office-goers and other young people who want to visit art galleries but look for the right company. Our first event was better than what we expected. At the end of visiting all the galleries, we went for a drink at Gokul. And everything was for free," said Rosalyn D'mello of Artinfo India. The first walk took the participants to several South Mumbai galleries, including Chatterjee and Lal, Project 88 and Chemould Prescott Road. The group registered through the Facebook page.
