1 Converse Shoes-Check. Low-waist skirt- Check. Un-tucked shirt-Check. Kohled eyes-Check. Funky earrings-Check. If you haven’t guessed already, that’s my school uniform I’m talking about. Sure I get occasionally reprimanded for it, but that’s part of the ‘image’ one’s got to have in school. After all, if you haven’t been sent to the Headmistress’s office at least twice, you’re just not cool enough to be part of any friend circle. Alarming as the trend may seem, it’s now an integral part of the life led by most teenagers. So what makes us do all this? It is the need to fit in that gets the better of everyone.
What my friends think of me dictates who I am, and although it bothered me in the beginning, now I have come to realise its just part of growing up. I am happy that my friends like me, and I like them too.
Peaceful Teenage-Check.

People choose friends who accept them and see them in a favourable light. During adolescence people spend more time with their peers. With peers, teens can become independent and connected and can develop their own identities. Therefore, peers matter a lot in our life. Their opinions matter a lot as they face the same situations as we do and we find them to be a better judge of our problems than our parents. They know the prime issues facing us, they are aware of our experiences in school and outside. It becomes important as we try hard to gain their acceptance and change ourselves to achieve this.
