Warrant against Raj Thackeray for offending Biharis

A Bihar court issued a non-bailable warrant against MNS chief Raj Thackeray for his alleged hurting utterances against Biharis.

A Bihar court on Tuesday issued a non-bailable warrant against MNS chief Raj Thackeray for his alleged utterances “hurting feelings of Biharis and against Chhath festival.” First Class Judicial Magistrate Reshma Verma ordered the issue of the body warrant against Thackeray after he failed to appear before the court in compliance with its earlier order on December 4,2009.

Verma also directed the Commissioner of Mumbai Police to arrest Thackeray and produce him before the court on May 7.

Senior Advocate Sudhir Ojha had filed a complaint seeking legal action against Thackeray on his reported statement in Mumbai on February 28,2008 for “hurting feelings of Biharis and also their sentiments with Chhath festival.”
