Watch: Amitabh Bachchan,Anil Kapoor,Vidya Balan in animated ‘Mahabharat’

The only plus point of this animated 'Mahabharat' is that the makers have ensured a promising star cast.

Filmmaker Jayantilal Gada has assimilated talented actors like Amitabh Bachchan,Ajay Devgn,Jakie Shroff,Anupam Kher and Vidya Balan in his ambitious project ‘Mahabharat’.

The first trailer of the film however fails to impress with its mediocre graphics in this age of technology. The only plus point of the film is that Jayantilal Gada has ensured a promising star cast.

Jackie Shroff seems a worthy choice for Duryodhan just as Anupam Kher is convincing as conniving Shakuni mama. Amitabh Bachchan is impressive in Bheeshma Pitamah’s stature, while Vidya Balan as Draupadi is only passable.

Other actors, who are a part of the film, are Anil Kapoor as Karan,Manoj Bajpayee as Yudhisthir,Ajay Devgn becomes Arjun,Sunny Deol is seen as Bheem.

It is not only prominent voice of the actors but the other interesting feature of the film is that each mythological character has the face of the respective actor.

One of the key characters of the epic is Krishna and the makers wanted to get someone, who has a sense of authority in his voice. They were keen to have Salman Khan on board for the role of Krishna, sources said.

Interesting Jayantilal Gada informs that none of the actors charged a penny for the film.

When asked how did Jayantilala Gada came about the idea to make an animated form of the great Indian epic he said: “I have been wanting to make Mahabharat. It is such a big subject, with so many layers to it. Since we decided to make an animation film,we thought it would be nice if each character has a face that people can identify and are familiar with, and instantly connect. So after studying each character,we approached the actors and they supported us. That is because of our good will.”

‘Mahabharat’ is produced by Gada’s family, comprising nephew Kushal Gada, son Dhaval Gada, wife Reshma Gada and daughter Bhavita Gada and releases on December 25.
