And he gives a reasoning to it also. “I think the motivational factor, the inner belief, is missing. You look at the I-League now — it’s mostly the foreign players that are scoring. When you have an opportunity to perform against foreign players in your own league, why don’t players grab the opportunity?” Chima added.
There is no doubt about the fact that India has enough talent but the right steps are not taken towards harnessing the potential that we have.
“There is no doubt that India has talented players but then we have to utilise it.
“All that is being done are talks and talks and more talks but nothing is being done on ground. The officials should play their part if they are planning something for the betterment of soccer. Also the spirit of excelling in missing in the players,” Chima said.
