A week after the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum sentenced the president and secretary of Maa Shakti Cooperative Group Housing Society,Sector 20,Panchkula,to two years’ imprisonment and slapped them with a Rs-10,000 fine for not complying with the forum’s orders, the complainant,Balbir Goel, has now moved the same forum asking for their punishment to be revoked as “the matter stands resolved”.

“They have complied with the forum’s orders. We have moved an affidavit in the court saying the court’s orders have been complied with and if the court deems fit, they can cancel their punishment. They have paid the requisite due with interest,” said the counsel for the complainant.

“The entire issue stands settled now. The previous cheque, which was issued to the complainant Balbir Goel got dishonoured due to some communication gap. He has been paid the entire amount, along with the interest,as the Hon’ble Forum ordered,” said Vikram, former secretary of the housing society.
