The Government has also asked the industry to consider how they could increase the “capabilities” of the SC/ST population in the country.
Under these, attention has been drawn to the Ministry of Social Justice’s suggestions on the matter:
• Industry could fund ashram schools for the ST population.
• Industry fund infrastructure and teaching facilities in 100 Ekalavya model residential schools for tribals from class VI to class XII.
• Industry sponsor some ST students for studies in good private schools in each state.
• Industry conduct a sports talent hunt among tribal children and nurture talent.
