  • Strongly denouncing the attack on the daughter of a CPM MLA in Mangalore recently, Infosys Chief Mentor N R Narayana Murthy on Tuesday said he found nothing wrong if a boy goes out with a girl from a different community.

"What is wrong if a boy goes out with a girl from a different community?" he asked.

Shruti, who was travelling to Mangalore, was dragged out of the bus after she was found to be in the company of a male friend belonging to another community.

Wil Narayan Murthy Support?By: Nagendra | 21-Feb-2009 Reply | Forward There is nothing wrong if a boy going with girl with different community. But kindly ask your muslim brothers whether they are ready to accept their community girl going with Hindu boy. Please talk to them and advice others. Advicing Hindus is very easy because they are not going to protest or revolt. But for other religions it is not so easy.Even marrying with other religions also acceptable to Hindus, But I ask Narayan murthy whether muslim community accept their girls marrying with Hindu boys. Will you support in the same spirit.

Hyperbole needs a Spell CheckBy: Shiv | 22-Feb-2009 Reply | Forward An absence of grammatical knowledge seems to be a prerequisite to promoting moral policing. Use the time you spend on philosophical hyperbole to get an education.
It's all in our destinyBy: P Paul | 19-Feb-2009 Reply | Forward I agree. There is nothing wrong if a boy goes out with a girl when most Indians believe in destiny because they know each one of us has to follow its course in our lives like disease, divorce, death by hanging or burning, beheading of family, killing of parent at age 45, and when destiny is not cruel enough, becoming Chand and Fiza. Our media has been teaching us what happens in their destiny when a boy goes out with a girl. It is silent, though, on millions of Indian boys and girls meeting at their weddings to take vows to rejoice marriage and raise families and hope for happiness ever after. Some do it early on and often with life-long guilt and many wait for opportune time reinforcing values of Sita and Savitri. It's is all in our destiny.
Actually it's better. By: shyam | 19-Feb-2009 Reply | Forward Actually it's better.
commentBy: balan | 18-Feb-2009 Reply | Forward mr.narayanamoorthy has a big heart so to say. but will he allow this to his daughter/son, or will any parent accept it.
Murthy's commentBy: Ne Co | 18-Feb-2009 Reply | Forward Anyone can marry, cohabit, go to pubs with anyone - as long as they are adults, willing and not breaking any laws. That's the end of that. What a family accepts traditionally acceptable is their own business - so you can't protest if a family makes their daughters wear saris if that is what they want to do - or jeans.
