Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal, who used to have a field day under his previous boss Shivraj Patil, has been unusually silent ever since P Chidambaram has taken over. The grapevine has it that Jaiswal, after one of his trademark interactions with the media, was summoned by Chidambaram and told that he did not need to overstretch himself as the Home Ministry already had a full-time spokesperson. The message seems to have had the desired effect with rent-a-quote Jaiswal rarely seen on television these days.
