Sridevi's comeback film, English Vinglish, is, no doubt, awaited by her fans. But one of them, a debutant filmmaker Sandeep Malani, went a step ahead when he fixed an appointment to meet the actor in person last week. For the meeting, he arrived with a massive collage of posters of all the films that Sridevi has starred in till now, including her debut, Julie, back in 1975 where she was a child artiste. In addition, he gifted the actor a rare childhood picture of her with her parents. We hope Sridevi is already feeling welcomed in the industry even as she tries yet again to chart the route to success.

The sixth season of Kaun Banega Crorepati was launched on Wednesday in Mumbai amid dazzling lights of a makeshift hot seat and its host Amitabh Bachchan's booming baritone as he reiterated the new theme: "Sirf Gyaan Hi Aapko Aapka Haq Dilata Hai". Exclusive audio-visuals on the show's theme were played as Bachchan followed it up by conducting a fun game of KBC with the press, although in his impeccable trademark shuddha Hindi. "Once in a while it feels great to get the media to do what they usually ask us to — look at the camera, pose in a certain way," he said. KBC will go on air on Sony starting September 7. Playing on its theme along similar lines as last year's, the show will move from the weekdays to the weekend slot of Friday to Sunday at 8.30pm.
