Bangalore, October 11: : Sourav Ganguly denied on Friday that he had given any interview to a Bengali daily in which he had lashed out at the national selectors for treating him as the "sacrificial goat" all the time.

"The reports of an interview from Bengali daily published in various newspapers are false. I have not given an interview of that sort to anyone and hopefully also in future," Ganguly said in a statement which was read out by Indian team logistics manager Russel Radhkrishnan in Bangalore.

"I would request you to clarify with me before publishing news from other sources," he added.

BCCI by HPJ on 2008-10-11 15:52:55.637517+05:30
Look at today's score by Indians against Australia.BCCI should actively think of winding up cricket in India.Let the players play in streets.Let them make tons and tons of runs. Viewers in streets will be happy to see them in there.Save money and donate to the needy all that crores of ruppes that the BCCI has with it.CALL BACK TEAM INDIA from Bangalore to small town in India to play street cricket.
every reporter and every "news" media is a damned liar by Truthful on 2008-10-11 13:45:18.766432+05:30
All the rags and Tv and radio channels running news in India in particular is a pathetic bunch of pathological liars and blackmailers. Maybe that was the motive behind whatshername woman who used to run some rag channel in Delhi. I would be happy if Ganguly got these liars behind bars for a long time.

It must be a scribe's imagination to invent a story that made headlines sometimes back. It has taken Saurav over a week to come with a denial, and that too after Vengsarkar brought the issue up with his comments that will be made after the present test series. Do not overstep Truthful with the mandate that you call every TV and radio channels as pathological liars and blackmailers. Enjoy the game of cricket.
Who is responsible? by Anthony Joseph on 2008-10-11 12:13:57.956289+05:30
I really have lost faith in the media. If the media that published this story cannot validate the story they should be suspended. If not Ganguly should be held guilty for this retraction. Indian cricket has reached funny propositions.
Sourav- The incorrigible Politician by Pankaj Verma on 2008-10-11 11:44:14.783286+05:30
It is this politics that has ruined Sourav's career. He will always add some political angle to everything he does. What does he want to do, ask BCCI to tell him not to retire and assure him he will play in all the matches for next 50 years? If you have chosen to retire, do so gracefully Dada.Who knows if he himself has got the letters sent for alleged abduction, so that people may ask him not to retire under pressure.
Why so much delay by R.Ramachandran on 2008-10-11 11:12:43.461611+05:30
Does it take this fellow to deny the interview so much time? Will he sue the daily for carrying an interview which he says he did not give? Nothing short of legal action by him would convince that he did not give the interview.
