Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil on Sunday met Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and said that he would not resign from his post.

Patil, after meeting Deshmukh at his official residence 'Varsha' in south Mumbai, said that there is no possibility of his resignation.

"I have heard that BJP leader Gopinath Munde has demanded for my resignation following the multiple terror attacks in Mumbai," Patil told media persons.

He further said that when Akshardham was attacked, the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi did not resign and when the Parliament was attacked the then Union Home Minister L K Advani did not resign.

"Then why should I resign after the Mumbai attack? What morality is BJP talking about?" Patil questioned.

The Deputy Chief Minister also said that the police force who have battled against terrorists since the night of Wednesday should not be criticised.

Why resign?By: Indian | 03-Dec-2008 Reply | Forward No he should not resign. we hardly have honest leaders like him. we cannot afford to loose them. The blast was not all his responsiblity. He is not alone running our country. Yes He is responsible for the terror attack, should be punnished but there are many other ways than resignation. Media have made a huge cry out of his interview. Everyone knows that he is not well versed in hindi and this is the only reason for his statement. We all are talking about the young crowd to become leaders. But at the same time i am not sure whether even they can make justice. Can we have no corruption with them?We need military rule in our government. A powerful
why resignBy: pxp | 01-Dec-2008 Reply | Forward he should resign because he cannot accept his responsibilities. He should be made an example to those that do not accept their responsibilities they do not deserve the post they were selected for by the people.Jaago sone walo...otherwise these so called "petty" incedents will one day completly destroy the country.
Then let the rest followBy: Hemant G | 03-Dec-2008 Reply | Forward The home minister of the country resigns home minister for state resigns chief minister resigns by that logic the Prime minister should resign. Also the NSG which walked in the following morning were late and come under the direct control of the PM's office so he should resign. All this happens and Ministers who have a moral responsibility have to resign. But the Mumbai police commissioner who has direct responcilibity of the matter stays put and no one has even asked for his resignationAnd Lalu he's the railway minister right? Well there was a massacre at CST. He didn't provide adequate security for its commuters how come he hasn't resigned?
R R Patil's resignationBy: Raj | 01-Dec-2008 Reply | Forward R R Patil seems to want to cling to his post at any cost. He should not be accorded the opportunity to go out with honour. He should be severely reprimanded and sacked right away. It is too late for him to cloak himself with a veneer of decency and feign outrage at the turn of events.
Why resign?By: Vinod Dawda | 01-Dec-2008 Reply | Forward It is precisely because this chap does not understand why he should resign.
