Malegaon, September 30: : The powerloom town of Malegaon on Tuesday remained tense following the blast which killed four persons and injured 70 others but the situation is under control, police said.

The injured also included seven policemen and 11 homeguards, who were hurt in stone pelting by a mob after the blast at Bhikku Chowk last night, they said.

Six policemen and an Additional SP, Viresh Prabhu, were among the injured, police said, adding that the wounded were rushed to the nearby Wadia and Medicare hospitals.

The jeep of the sub-divisional-magistrate was also damaged in the stone pelting and police resorted to firing in the air to disperse the mob.

Meanwhile, curfew, which was imposed till Tuesday morning in the blast locality near Noorani mosque was relaxed today, police said.

The blast took place near a hotel in Bhikku Chowk around 2145 hrs last night and the bomb was reportedly planted in a silver coloured Hero Honda Passion motorcycle, which was found near the site, they added.

The four deceased have been identified as Shaikh Rafiq Shaikh Mustafa, Sayyad Jahir Sayyad Nisar, Sayyad Azhar Sayyad Mohmmed and Shaikh Fakir Shaikh Liyakat, police said.

Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil and Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal will be visiting the town today to take stock of the situation.

Nashik Collector S Chokkalingam and DSP Nikhil Gupta are camping in the town to keep a check on the situation.

The district administration has asked people to remain calm and not to believe in rumours spread by anti-social elements.

Two years back on September 8, 31 people were killed and over 300 were injured in three blasts near the Bada Kabrastan on the Shabe-baraat day.

Did Bomb Explode while Being Packed to another destination? by V.Mehtta on 2008-10-02 00:08:08.414285+05:30
There was a report in a marathi newspaper that the bomb went off when it was being packed on a motor bike and that the people in the locality attacked police stations so that they will not investigate the matter further and book a large number of the community.Seeing the chain of violent reactions of the people around, it appears to be true and all these protests were ploys and tricks just to protect the guilty.
TERRORISM by PESHORI AHUJA on 2008-10-01 06:47:56.330053+05:30
POLITICIANS ARE THE WORST ENEMY.FOR THEIR GAIN, THEY WOULD CREATE HATRED BETWEEN DIFFERENT RELIGIONS, BETWEEN DIFFERENT SECTS, BETWEEN FARMERS AND BUSINEESS PEOPLE, BETWEEN URBANITES AND VILLAGERS, BWTWEEN WORKERS AND EMPLOYERS.WE ATTRIBUTE "DIVIDE AND RULE POLICY' TO BRITISHERS. IT IS VERY MUCH THERE IN INDIA EVEN NOW.THE NEED OF THE DAY IS FOR ALL COUNTRY MEN, WITHOUT CAST OR CREED, TO RISE TOGETHER AND MAKE THEM TO ACCOUNT FOR THEIR FAILURE TO CONTROL TERRORISM.THEI STATEMENTS THAT WE WOULD ROOT OUT TERRORISM HAVE MISERABLY FAILED TO ACHIEVE THE RESULT.
TERRORISM by PESHORI AHUJA on 2008-10-01 06:15:38.110665+05:30
THERE WERE BLASTS IN RAJASTHAN, GUJARAT, AND KARNATKA. IIN ALL THE THREE CASES THE HOME MINISTER OF INDIA SAID THAT THE STATE GOVT. WAS DULY WARNED. THESE ARE BJP RUN STATES. THUS IMPLIEDLY TNE UPA (CONGRESS) PUT THE BLAME ON BJP AND POLITICALISED THE BLASTS.iT OCCURRED IN DELHI. NO STATEMENT FROM HOME MINISTER WHETHER THE STATE GOVT. HAD BEEN WARNED. INSTEAD A STATEMENT BY THE CONGRESS PRESIDENT "WE WOULD ROOT OUT THE TERRORISM". THE LATEST IS IN MAHARASHTRA. AGAIN NO STATEMENT BY THE HOME MINISTER BUT INSTEAD A STATEMENT BY THE CONGRESS PRESIDENT "WE HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO ROOT OUT TERRORISM AND ANOTHER SENTENCE BLAMING THE CRITICS OF POLITIICALSING THE EVENT."A DOUBLE STANDARD. "HEAD I WIN TAIL YOU LOSE" THIS IS THE CENTRAL GOVT. THAT HAS TO BE IMPARTIAL. MAY GOD BLESS INDIA.
Terror and communalist hatred by Sabrina on 2008-10-01 02:50:02.688529+05:30
As a Westerner, I am really worried that your country today is where Rwanda was in early 90s. (google Rwanda genocide). Jehadi terror is all over the world, but the reactions to it in India are quite different. You don't see these incidents as what they are. You see them in light of your history, and you react accordingly, or, purpose to do so. The mistrust between Hindus and Muslims, shapes the views here. You cannot distinguish between terrorists and ordinary citizens, mixed in this mess is communal politics. The internet chatter on Indian sites is filled with hate. There is no one with credibility to stop this madness. Those who try to stop it are labelled as 'communists', 'pseudo-seculars' and even traitors. Terrorists may kill some here and there, and that only if they succeed. But hatred against entire communities is a sure receipe for disaster. In Rwanda the Huttu majority, listiening to FM radios were talking themselves up into a frenzy- result:genocide and ruin.
Terrorist attacks by Rajeev on 2008-10-01 01:40:35.194579+05:30
Amit, secularism for hindus only ? Marxists and Congress made the vast Hindu community a helpless, ununited and secular mass which is unable to react to any kind of attacks, killings and conversions. Intolerance to others is inseparable in semetic relegions. Everyone knows who is behind the terrorist attacks. Try to understand thatHinduism is not a relegion, but it is a way of life. It is rightly called as Sanatana Dharma by our ancient Sages and Rishis.

Muslim Youth Turning Terrorists by Raja Gopal on 2008-09-30 22:28:36.548819+05:30
After 2004  Bomb Blasts have been set up by Indian Muslims. Prior to 2004 It was mainly from  across the border.  UPA's policies - starting with Sachar Commission Report - Repeated pronouncements by Congress  leaders, PM and Lalu Prasad that Muslims have been  left out  the main stream - and the continuous  out cry by the vociferous muslims like Shabana Azmi, Naqui, and Aktar, who have access to media, the repeated articles against  Narendra Modi, and the latest article by  M J Akbar where  he says the police only arrest the Muslims - have all  contributed to the muslim youth being alienated aganinst the  rest of the population. Congress party's over enthusiasm to please  the Muslims has resulted in Muslim your actually taking up Terrorism.  UPA has lost itts moral right to remain power. They have paved the way for  many separate Muslim Majority  countries starting with KAshmir.  India will Disintegrate if UPA remains in power a ny longer.
Because of that .... by shah on 2008-09-30 20:40:56.029232+05:30
Everytime the political leaders they used to comment like this "Because of Godhra train carnage -> Gujarat genocide happened", "Because of Christians converting Hindus to their religion -> Killings
The number one killer by K Sanjiv on 2008-09-30 15:13:40.218409+05:30
The real intolerance is when anyone does not tolerate another person belonging to another religion and feels he must ensure that the other person change his or her religion. That is the begininning and end of the number cause of killing for the last 2000 years, organised religion.

why are thet peltin stones at police?
by QandA on 2008-09-30 20:12:59.087923+05:30
Manish,Indeed a very good question. Why are they pelting stones at police. Dear brother if you are following news, which most of the news channels are avoiding to report and sadly event IE didnt report. The locals informed about the abondoned bike to the police picket which was in 1 minute's distance away from the spot. They paid no heed. Ofcourse they must busy announcing and making people aware that they shouldnt be touching unattended objects or report immediately regarding anything suspicious. I guess they never had time to check about that bike.

Kedar, Amit is referring to the Kanpur and Bhiwandi blasts where bombs went off while they were being manufactured. Well no prizes for guessing who were manufacturing it and who died unless you are not following any news.
