Maoist leader Kishenji on Sunday challenged West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee to “teach them a lesson” as he had warned in New Delhi on Saturday. “We will not take rest unless we see an end to the fascism of the CPM and the Congress government. They will have to stop this joint operation; else they will have to pay a high dividend,” the leader said. He was reacting to Bhattacharjee’s statement in Delhi on Saturday that the release of 26 women “agitators” in exchange for a police officer abducted by Maoists was an exception. The CM had warned that the Naxalites would be taught a lesson in future. Kishenji said, “The entire country knows what the deal was. We didn’t hide anything. Everything we said was aired on television and carried in the newspapers... The government itself has admitted the charges against the women were not strong and they would have got the bail within a short time.”
