Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief Capt Amarinder Singh feels many important leaders have been left out during the constitution of party’s state executive and said he would request the high command for its expansion. A number of Amarinder’s loyalists have found place in the list released on Tuesday. Amarinder was talking to the media here on Wednesday after meeting party workers from Jalandhar Centre,Jalandhar North and Jalandhar West constituencies. He said there were many senior leaders, including Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa,Avtar Henry,Tej Parkash Singh and Jagmohan Singh Kang who had been left out and should be accommodated for benefit of the party. He also demanded arrest of BJP ministers Manoranjan Kalia and Swarna Ram whose roles are under scanner in the bribery case involving arrested MLA and former chief parliamentary secretary Raj Khurana. When asked about the corruption charges against former Congress minister Chaudhary Jagjit Singh,Capt said such cases were result of political vendetta. “I am also facing such cases,” he said. Amarinder said he had written to the prime minister, seeking to personally meet him to brief about the poor law and order and corruption in Punjab. “I will request for dismissal of the state government and earlier elections,” he added.
