What was the turning point or the best innings you have played this year?
It has to be that 100 against Australia in Australia. To score against the best in the world in those conditions gives you a lot of confidence as a cricketer. More than anything, it allowed me to hit back at all my critics, who had declared that I couldn’t score against good opposition on difficult wickets. That innings, more than the one I scored first in Australia against Sri Lanka, was special in that respect. Australia in Australia is the ultimate, isn’t it?
Finally, what are your plans for 2009?
I don’t plan too much. I just want 2009 to be as good as 2008. That’s my wish for the new year.
