A key witness in a murder case was attacked on the court premises on Tuesday. Harjinder Singh was attacked by a group of armed youth when he was waiting to record his statement. Minutes before he was attacked,Singh had submitted an application with the district and sessions court,requesting security. According to eyewitnesses,he was attacked with swords and received severe injuries. He was taken to the Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital where his condition is said to be serious. Singh was the key witness in a murder that took place in front of the same medical college last year. The trial has been going on at the sessions court. According to SHO City Sukhdev Singh,those involved in the case could have been behind the attack.
