A Dalit woman has lodged an FIR against senior UP cadre IPS officer and Gorakhpur DIG Anand Swaroop and others at the Fareedpur police station of Bareilly district, accusing them of kidnapping her infant son.
In the FIR lodged on Friday, the complainant, Narayani, has accused Swaroop, along with a Mauritius national, a Delhi-based nurse, two lawyers and other policemen of abducting of her nine-month-old son from her house in October, 2006 on the basis of forged documents. Swaroop was then posted as Bareilly SSP.
The case has been lodged under various Sections of the IPC and the provisions of the SC/ST Act.
SP (Rural) Vijay Gautam, officiating as Bareilly DIG presently, said the complaint from the woman was received on July 2.
Fareedpur police station SHO Karan Singh said, “The case has been registered following directives from the Human Rights Commission.”
According to the SHO, the FIR states that Narayani had undergone treatment for tuberculosis at a Delhi hospital in 2006 where she had came in contact of a nurse named Pinki.
Narayani has said that during her stay in Delhi, Pinki introduced her with a Mauritius national, Geeta, who extended financial help for her treatment.
The woman alleged in the FIR that Geeta fraudulently managed to get documents about adoption of Narayani’s nine-month-old son with the help of two lawyers at the Tees Hazari court in Delhi then. Narayani, however, had returned with her son to her native place at Ruriya village in Fareedpur.
