A 20-year-old woman from Bihar,who came to Delhi with her husband in search of a job,was gangraped by two men in Northeast Delhis Gokulpuri area late on Tuesday night.
After the incident was reported,15 members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) were arrested for rioting outside the Gokulpuri police station on Wednesday.
According to police,the woman and her husband arrived from Bihar on Tuesday.
They were in search of a job and an accommodation,when they were approached by
two men identified as Digambar and Ravi,who offered to help
the couple, a senior police officer said.
On Tuesday night,Digambar took the couple to his house in Gokulpuri,where he and Ravi threatened the couple and told them not to raise an alarm.
They then took turns to rape the woman and held the couple captive till Wednesday,a police officer said.
Subsequently,the accused put the couple in an auto-
rickshaw,and told the driver to drop them at Anand Vihar railway station.
During the journey,the couple told the auto-rickshaw driver about the incident.
The driver then called AAP members,following which a case was registered and the accused arrested.
AAP members protested outside the police station on Wednesday evening. Police arrested about 15 members of the party on charges of rioting.
