Woman held for octogenarian’s murder

A few hours later,the police arrested a 35-year-old woman,Gail,and claimed to have solved the murder. Gail was staying with Margret. “Gail seemed to be mentally disturbed. She had confessed to the crime and told us that she attacked her with a knife over a small dispute in the morning. When Margret fell on the ground she ran away from the house through the back door,” said Circle Officer,Hazratganj,Pankaj Awasthi. He added Margret had injuries on the chest and stomach. The knife used in the crime was recovered from inside the house.

On Wednesday evening,one of the victim’s neighbours called up police and said the house was locked since morning. The police broke open the door to find the body lying on the floor. The police said they had informed Margret’s son Michael,who is working in Delhi. He is on way to Lucknow.
