  • The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday arrested a 35-year-old woman for her alleged links with terrorist groups holed up in the Batidhar forest. Official sources said that she was suspected to have supplied food and water to the terrorists.

The arrested woman was identified as Maniza Bibi, wife of Mohammad Shafiq, resident of Dera under Mendhar Police Station. Her husband works in Saudi Arabia while she lives with her three children near Batidhar in Mendhar tehsil. Following the arrest, the security forces handed the accused to the police who have filed an FIR against her. According to sources, the woman will be sent to the Joint Interrogation Centre in Jammu for further questioning to elicit more information about the operation of the terrorists.

Earlier, a retired Assistant Sub-Inspector of the J&K Police, identified as Muzaffar Hussain Shah, a resident of Batidhar, was also arrested by the police for his alleged links with the terrorists. Reportedly, he has already been brought to the interrogation centre.
