Woman kills lover with a noose for blackmail bid

The women have been identified as Rita Dobaria (32),a mother of three young children,and Kiran Gohel. Both have been booked for murder and destruction of evidence.

Hours after the police fished out the body which was spotted by villagers,the deceased was identified as 38-year-old Haresh Zaria. Preliminary investigation revealed he was a resident of Lodheshwarnagar and had a small diesel engine repairing shop near Rajkot Marketing Yard.

Call records and interrogation of Zaria’s family,especially his 10-year-old daughter Neha,revealed his involvement with Dobaria,his friend’s wife with whom he had had a relationship for the past few years. “Dobaria was earlier involved with some other man,which Zaria knew. When Dobaria wanted to end the relationship,Zaria threatened to tell about her past to her husband,” said the police. “Dobaria,with the help of her friend Gohel,an aanganwadi worker from Sarpdal village,then plotted and executed a plan that they thought was foolproof.”

“Knowing it was impossible for them to forcibly choke a physically stronger Zaria,the two made a plan. Dobaria convinced Zaria to come blindfolded in her bedroom. There,the two women were ready with a noose made of nylon rope,with its one end tied to the ventilator above door. As soon as Zaria entered the room,Dobaria fixed the noose around his neck and two friends together pulled up the loose end of nylon rope. Zaria died of suffocation.”

The police said after Zaria’s stopped breathing,the two packed his body into a brown-coloured sack. “The sack was loaded on the scooty’s leg-rest in the front and they drove for about 10 km,from east end to west end of the city,and dumped the body in Nyai-I dam around 3 pm on Thursday,” police said.

Vijay,Dobaria’s husband,was at his shop at the time of incident and till Monday,he was unaware about the whole incident.
