A 33-year-old woman was allegedly molested and assaulted by three men near her home in a Cuffe Parade slum on Sunday morning, police said. One of the men was later arrested.
The victim has been admitted to G T Hospital, police said. Neighbours alleged that the men — Mehboob Khan, Shafiq Quraishi and Raja More — attacked her at 5 am when she was taking her son to a toilet. "They were armed and tried to force themselves on her. When she resisted, they attacked her with knives," said a neighbour.
Shafiq was arrested on Sunday evening. "Teams have been formed to find the others," said sub-inspector Rahul Bhandare.
