Woman teacher stabbed in MCD school

A 53-year-old woman teacher was stabbed by an unidentified teenager in front of her Class II students inside the classroom of a MCD-run school in east Delhi this morning.

A 53-year-old woman teacher was stabbed by an unidentified teenager in front of her Class II students inside the classroom of a MCD-run school in east Delhi this morning.

Bitti Bhan was in Class II-B of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi Girls School in Trilokpuri of Mayur Vihar Phase-II when the attacker,who had covered his face with a piece of cloth,attacked her with a knife.

The attack was made at around 11.35 am and the assailant,who appeared to be lean and aged anywhere between 18-19,managed to flee from the school after the incident.

The teenager entered Bhan’s classroom asking “which one is Class IV” and assaulted her. Bhan,who was sitting on a chair,suffered injuries on her left thigh,a senior police official said.

“The incident took place in front of her students. They started screaming. The staff rushed her to Lal Bhadur Shastri Hospital. She was discharged after primary treatment,” the official said.

The teacher said she had no enemies. “It just came to me as a surprise,” she said.

The official said they were trying to find out the motive behind the attack.

“As the teacher has ruled out any personal rivalry with anyone,we are in the dark. We are investigating the matter from all angles,” the official said.
