Women spend 500 reinventing their image after being dumped: study

Study says woman will react to her difficult break-up by hitting the shops to give much-needed boost to her self-esteem.

The average woman spends 500 pounds reinventing her image after being dumped by a boyfriend, according to a new study.

Researchers found that the woman will react to her difficult break-up by hitting the shops, splashing out on haircuts, cosmetics and a new wardrobe to give a much-needed boost to her self-esteem.

On top of that new shoes,a gym membership, spray tans,make-up and manicures all go to ensuring she overcomes the heartbreak as quickly as possible.

The findings emerged in a Superdrug study of 2,000 women who have found themselves picking up the pieces after a boyfriend called time on their relationship.

Being dumped, whether it was on the cards or not, will make even the toughest woman feel awful, the Daily Mail quoted Simon Comins,of Superdrug as saying.

This research shows that women start to question what went wrong with the relationship, and feel self-conscious about their looks.

So indulging in a new hair-do,a change of hair colour, beautiful bronzed skin and a lovely new wardrobe of clothes can be just the tonic for those who have been heartbroken, Comins stated.

The study also found more than half of those polled admitted they have completely revamped their appearance after an ex-partner left them feeling unwanted and unloved.

And the good news is three quarters also admitted the reinvention was worth every penny,as they felt it helped them rebuild their confidence.
