Workshop for PGT Physics Teachers at Bal Bharati

The School, on behalf of National Progressive Schools' Conference, hosted a workshop for PGT Physics teachers on November 30 and December 1, 2012, at the school auditorium. It was attended by more than 60 teachers from 40 schools in Delhi and NCR. R P Sharma from CBSE and Dr Punita Verma, convener, Delhi Association of Science Education and associate lecturer of Physics, Kalandi College, DU, were special invitees to the workshop. The workshop commenced with lighting of the lamp by L V Sehgal, Chairman, NPSC, and Bal Bharati School principal Suraj Prakash, professor H C Verma and R P Sharma.

DPS, Mathura Road, students go on a Nasa trip

Thirty five students from classes IX to XII, accompanied by teachers Deeksha Khera (HOD Physics), Anjali Gupta and Anubha Dua visited the prestigious space camp of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Nasa) during the summer vacation of academic session 2012-2013.

Organised in collaboration with Frontiers Edutainment Pvt Ltd, the students travelled to the US Space & Rocket Center at 1, Tranquility Base, Huntsville, Alabama, near the famous Marshall Space Flight Center, from where all international space station operations are monitored.

After this highly educational week, the students went to Orlando, Florida. A bus took them around Manhattan and Brooklyn. They visited the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty on Ellis Island, and the Intrepid Museum. The 12-day trip was one which the students will always cherish in their memories.
