World’s youngest mother at 11?

LONDON: An 11-year-old schoolgirl in Bulgaria is said to have become the world’s youngest mother after she gave birth to a baby on her wedding day. According to British tabloid News of the World, Kordeza went into labour during her marriage to her teenage boyfriend Jeliazko Zhelyazkova. She was wearing her white dress when she arrived at hospital. “I’m not going to play with toys any more — I have a new toy now,” the 11-year-old bride, who fell pregnant within two weeks of her 11th birthday, was quoted as saying.

Matrix producer to make Prophet film

DOHA: A film about the Prophet Mohammad backed by the producer of The Lord of the Rings and The Matrix is under discussion, a Qatar media firm said on Sunday, with the aim of creating an English-language blockbuster for the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims. Filming of the $150 million movie is set to start in 2011, with Barrie Osborne as its producer. The film will reportedly not depict the Prophet in accordance with Islamic strictures. Talks are being held with studios, talent agencies and distributors in the US and Britain.

Berlin Wall resurrected in LA

LOS ANGELES: Twenty years after history sent it tumbling down, a section of Berlin Wall has been rebuilt in Los Angeles, offering a glimpse of the brutal Cold War frontier that divided Europe. Since mid-October, 10 slabs of concrete that separated East and West Berlin until November 9 1989, have been installed along Wilshire Boulevard in front of Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). The wall sections were acquired by the Los Angeles-based Wende Museum.
