Yatra held in memory of Dr B R Ambedkar

The Dr Ambedkar Study Circle on Saturday organised a Sobha Yatra in the memory of Dr B R Ambedkar on his 122nd birth anniversary.

The Dr Ambedkar Study Circle on Saturday organised a Sobha Yatra in the memory of Dr B R Ambedkar on his 122nd birth anniversary. The yatra was flagged off by Anil Kumar,IAS,Home Secretary,Chandigarh Administration.

The Sobha Yatra started from Dr Ambedkar Bhawan,Sector 37-A which passed through Sectors 24/23,22/21,35/34,35,36,37 and culminated at Dr Ambedkar Bhawan,Sector 37,Chandigarh.

The SC/ST Employees Associations of the city,like LIC,New India Assurance,United Assurance ESI,Panjab University,Punjab Engineering College and Chandigarh Administration,participated in the Sobha Yatra.

Various organisations from Chandigarh,Mohali and Panchkula also joined the yatra. Cultural activities were performed. The yatra was also welcomed by the Chandigarh Congress workers at Congress Bhawan,Sector 35,Chandigarh.

In the end,the president of the Dr Ambedkar Study Circle thanked the participants.

A function will be held on Sunday,10 am,at Dr Ambedkar Bhawan,Sector 37,Chandigarh. Pawan Kumar Bansal,Union Minister for Railways will be the chief guest on the ocassion. V K Singh,Finance Secretary of UT Administration will preside over the function.
