  • Leaders backing B S Yeddyurappa on Sunday held talks with senior BJP leader L K Advani in the wake of demands for the Karnataka Chief Minister's removal by the Bellary brothers.

Former MP Dhananjay Kumar and Karnataka Home Minister V S Acharya called on Advani to discuss the crisis in the state. Both the leaders are in the capital as emissaries of Yeddyurappa and have tried to convince the central leadership that there should be no change of guard.

Kumar and Acharya had held a meeting with BJP general secretary (organisation) Ramlal yesterday. They claimed that Ramlal had assured them the incumbent Chief Minister would continue.

Karnataka Speaker Jagadish Shettar, who is close to the Bellary brothers -- Janardhan Reddy and G Karunakar Reddy -- met senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley, who is the central leadership's pointsman for dealing with the crisis. Jaitley had spent three days in Karnataka last week to resolve the crisis. After he failed to convince the dissidents, leaders from both the camps are visiting the capital to find a solution to the problem. Reddy brothers are expected to reach Delhi tomorrow while Yeddyurappa will be here on November 4.

Yeddy's FutureBy: Girish B | 03-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward In karnataka people have voted for a change, now BJP MLA's are voting for a change in captain, it is a good news for BJP because from now on, they can work and deliver as a team.As an astrologer i see more changes during MAY 2010 in BJP karnataka team where the whole team may be replaced by B team of MLA including captain. Central leaders should be careful of match fixers including captain seeking support from other teams. Which has done earlier.
Dissidence in Karnataka BJPBy: Ram Nath Babu | 02-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward The problem of dissidence is faced not only BJP but other parties as well. In AP, post YSR's death, there were voices of dissent from MLAs who were supporters of Reddy's son. But then, in congress none can dare the dictum of High Command (read Sonia-Rahul). Congress is a facist party whereas BJP is a democratic party. I would say the BJP has taken a too much doze of democracy! There are problems in Communist parties. Parties like RJD, SP and BSP too have problems in their ranks, despite the fact that all these parties are controlled by a single person. These incidence in BJP clearly points out to the fact that we are not yet ripe for democracy as we are basically indisciplined. Democracy can be successfull only when the country's citizens are disciplined and highly educated. Babu
Yeddy vs ReddyBy: RJ Khurana | 01-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward There is no end to BJP's troubles. Confusion and dissensions in the central leadership after the setback in the general elections have emboldened the state BJP leaders to fly at each other's throat. There is disarray in Rajasthan and UP, whispers of discord in Jharkhand, Bihar, MP and Chattisgarh and, of course, post election demoralization in Haryana. Turmoil in Karnataka was the last thing on the mind of the central leadership. There is hardly any reason for the central leadership not to assert but it seems to have lost the will. Democracy without a strong Opposition soon turns into a one party rule. Let this not happen. BJP leadership must gettogether and meet the new challenge head on.
