Oracle and Startup village to train over 30,000 students

Oracle India and Startup Village have joined hands to train about 30,000 students and 200 teachers in over 100 engineering colleges in Kerala in Java programming language to sharpen their proficiency in Information

Technology and enhance their employability.

An MoU in this regard will be signed on Nov 2 here, a press release said.

Oracle will provide the curriculum, training of faculty and access to a secure online learning environment for students to develop programming and database design. It will help the participating students to develop technical, analytical and business skills that support their pursuit of professional careers and advanced study.

The MoU signing ceremony will be followed by a panel discussion on how to increase the IT competitiveness of the talent pool of the state. It will be chaired by CUSAT

Vice-Chancellor Dr Ramachandran Thekkedath, an accomplished scientist and technology expert. Mrinal Das, Campus Recruitment, Oracle India will also feature in the panel.

Participating colleges will be able to avail the software grants and free training offered by Oracle as part of the Oracle Academy programme, the release said.

The Oracle Academy provides a complete portfolio of software, curriculum, hosted technology, faculty training, support, and certification resources to K-12, vocational, and higher education institutions for teaching use.

Faculty can flexibly insert these resources into computer science and business programmes, ensuring that students gain industry-relevant skills prior to entering the workforce. The Oracle Academy supports over 1.5 million students in 95 countries.
