2007

November 3: Gujarat High Court refuses to entertain her plea,asks her to approach a magistrate’s court

2008

March 26: Supreme Court orders government to re-investigate nine cases including Gulberg Society incident,sets up a special investigation team (SIT) that will look into Zakia’s complaint

2010

March 27: SIT questions Modi for several hours

May 14: SIT submits its report,saying no evidence to substantiate Zakia’s allegations

2011

March 11: SC asks SIT to look into doubts raised by amicus curiae Raju Ramchandran

June 18: Ramchandran meets witnesses in Ahmeadabad

July 25: Ramchandran submits his report on the SIT findings,says Modi can be prosecuted based on the available evidence

September 12: SC directs the magistrate’s court to decide whether Modi and others can be probed

March 15: SIT submits full report and case papers in magistrate’s court

April 10: Court observes SIT has sought closure and found no evidence against the accused,asks SIT to provide a copy of the report to Zakia

April: Zakia challenges SIT’s clean chit to Modi and others — her petition is rejected Thursday
