Two For The Road

Motor buffs Kim Jagtiani and Varun Mitra, travel around different landscapes of India, in vehicles unique to those terrains, showcasing their journey, experiences and discoveries of distinct cultures while on road. The duo hit the streets as they travel to Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Agra, Aligarh, Pune, Hyderabad, Andaman, Kolkata, Darjeeling etc, and highlight vehicles across categories - from an Audi A8 to a truck, and from a 500cc Thunderbird to a Jet Ski.

The pilot episode of the show had both Jagtiani and Mitra explore the festival of speed as they begin their journey from Buddh International Circuit, Noida. The episode shed some light on the so-called 'Mecca of motor sport' (Noida) and also documented a racing event. The first half had an elaborate discussion of the race track, which was built by a famous German architect and track designer, who has crafted similar racing tracks all over the world. The segment also had bytes of Formula One racing drivers like Felipe Massa and Mark Webber giving intricate details about the design of the track. The show in the next segment proceeded with Kim taking the viewers from all the action on tracks to the action back stage. She also gave the audience a sneak peek into assembly of the F1 cars. It also featured a review of BMW M5.

The show just as it is being touted is meant for hardcore motor-buffs! The vrooming sports cars, the sound of engines, the hustle and bustle on the racing tracks captured on camera, simply gives an adrenaline rush. For some, it might be an enlightening affair as they got to explore a sports venue like Buddh Circuit, which most non-sports enthusiast would be unaware of. It's a sight to see a vast, open race track standing sturdy in a place like Noida, near Delhi notorious for its vehicle clogged roads. Interestingly, bytes from international racers and technicians about the quality of track, or co-production of parts of F1 Cars in India, are eye-openers to what India is capable of!
