Angry over the inter-caste marriage of his sister, a youth allegedly killed his brother-in-law, his father and two brothers and injured two women of the family in Manikpur town in Thane district, police said on Monday.

The accused, Dilip Tiwari, along with three others allegedly stabbed to death Tiwari8217;s sister Sushma8217;s husband Prabhu Krishnan Nochil 28, his father Krishnan Nochil 70 and his brothers, Bipin Balan Kanakra 14 and Abhay Raj 16, while two family members were injured at Khairpada locality last night, Thane SP Ramrao Pawar said. The injured have been admitted to hospital. Dilip was suspected to have murdered the victims to avenge his sister8217;s marriage to Prabhu nearly a year ago.

The Tiwaris strongly disapproved of Sushma8217;s decision to marry Prabhu. Sushma had recently returned to her parents8217; home as she was pregnant. Police said Dilip took the opportunity to vent his anger and allegedly murdered the Nochils.

8216;8216;The murders took place due to bad blood between the two families over the inter-caste marriage and we are looking for the assailants,8217;8217; police added.
