Even as his action persona started defining Dharmendra, the actor made his foray into comedy, teaming up with directors like Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Basu Chatterji and Rajkumar Kohli.
Chupke Chupke, which saw the actor as a mischievous Botany professor, is one of his most memorable comical roles. The actor's turn as a 'shudh' Hindi speaking driver, certainly attracted a lot of attention.
The actor took to comedy in Guddi and Naukar Biwi Ka.
