Food for thought
Food Minister K V Thomas Monday came out with For The Grains, a selection of speeches he had delivered as MoS for Agriculture. And if he were to write another book, the theme should be ready. For minutes after the book release, Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar said in a lighter vein that he expected Thomas to write one soon on decontrolling sugar industry. The Food ministry is considering to scrap some controls on the sugar sector. Pawar recounted that he must have given some sleepless nights to Thomas given the fact that his farmers have been producing record food grain which the the ministry under Thomas had to procure, store and distribute.
