Relieved Bhajji wants to get on with the game
Agencies Posted online: Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 1050 hrs IST Adelaide, January 30: "I am very happy with the way things have shaped up. We have to move on and get on with the game," Harbhajan was quoted as saying. An ICC-appointed appeals commissioner on Tuesday lifted a three-Test ban on Harbhajan after finding him not guilty of racially abusing Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds in the infamous Sydney Test. Justice John Hansen downgraded Harbhajan's offence to use of obscene language and fined him 50 per cent of his match fee which amounts to 3,000 Australian dollars. The verdict has caused an uproar in Australia with the media accusing the BCCI and the ICC of buckling under BCCI's financial clout. |
