Book edited by St Xavier’s professor releases in London

He has been involved with various educational institutions like St Xavier’s College and Chitrabani. The contribution of Prof Gaston Roberge includes the title of the book, a foreword, a chapter on Mother Teresa, abortion and the media and a note by Alpion on Mother Teresa. “It has been a long project. We have become very close friends now,” said Prof Roberge, a well-known media critic and writer. “The collection of essays is strikingly relevant to the people of India, the cradle of ancient and rich civilisation,” feels Roberge. “Alexander came to India to conquer the land and he was asked to go back whereas Mother Teresa came to help the Indians and stayed here,” said Prof Roberge talking about the scope of the book. The principal of St Xavier’s college, Fr P C Mathew, described the achievement as very important for the institution.In 2005, before publishing the book on Mother Teresa —- Mother Teresa Saint or Celebrity —- Alpion had come to Kolkata and visited the Missionaries of Charity. He also delivered a couple of lectures at St Xavier’s college. |
