‘Infrastructure to determine land cost for IT SEZs’
Express News Service Posted online: Saturday, May 03, 2008 at 0125 hrs IST Kolkata, May 2 The state government has already assured 90 acres of land to each of the two IT firms. “We are unable to quote the price of the land to Infosys and Wipro, as it would depend on the cost of basic infrastructure for the proposed IT city,” the minister said on the sidelines of a seminar on IT security that was organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry. The state government will allot the land from the 600 acres that it will get from a joint venture company of Webel and Akash Nirman. Around 1,200 acres will be acquired by the company for the IT city at Rajarhat. Both Infosys and Wipro have assured an investment of Rs 500 crore each in the state for their new development centres. The IT majors are waiting for the land to be handed over to them to start the construction at the site. |
