Don Bosco in quarters

MUMBAI, May 11: Don Bosco Oratory beat MLWB (Bandra) 1-0 to make the quarter-finals of the Air-India football trophy organised by the MDFA at St Xavier's Ground, Parel, today.

Loknath Naidu struck in the second half with a powerful shot that slipped through goalkeeper Paul D'Souza's fingers.

Ace XI booked a berth in the Guru Nanak Trophy quarters with a 4-2 win over Borivli Rangers. Qurban Borges (2), Jaideep Sarkar and Marcus Alvares netted for Ace XI. Sandeep Kedar and Agnelo Fernandes reduced the margin for Rangers.

Young Boys (Siddharth) beat MM Samaj on penalties 4-2 after full time ended 1-1. Anand Ivel scored for Young Boys while Anand More for MM Samaj.

Kamlesh Gaekwad, Manoj Jadhav and Pradeep Kamble scored in the tie-breaker for Young Boys, Ramesh Meda being Samaj's lone success from the spot.
