Globalsport -- Tiger Woods is still free for a date

Agencies

DALLAS: Tiger Woods delighted a group of giggling teen girls at a youth golf clinic here with a major announcement he is not dating anyone. ``According to the tabloids I'am dating (model) Tyra Banks and am engaged to Kelli Kuehne,'' Woods said, denying the model, the young female golfer or anyone else is a current social companion.

Woods is here to play in his first PGA Tour event since winning the Masters by a record 12 strokes. Woods' presence has made this year's event the first sellout in the tournament's 30-year history, with 300,000 people expected to attend.

World record

PUSAN: Zou Feie of China snatched 100 kg to win the gold in the women's 59-kg class and broke a world record for the third consecutive day of the East Asian Games.

Zou beat the previous world record of 99 kg set by China's Chen Xiaomin in 1996. The snatch plus a clean and jerk of 120 kg gave Zou a total of 220 kg, tying a world record.

Benn denies

LONDON: Former world super-middleweight champion Nigel Benn testified yesterday he was not the man who smashed an ash tray into a former business partner's face in a nightclub.

The 33-year-old retired fighter is accused of shattered the nose of ticket agency owner Ray Sullivan at London's West End Legends nightclub last September. He pleads innocent to causing grievous bodily harm.
