Youth held for raping minor

* An unemployed youth was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in Thane on Sunday. Sanjay Madhukar alias Tambi was arrested by the Wagle Estate police for raping a 12-year-old girl on Sunday afternoon. The police said the victim was Tambi's neighbour and knew him for a long time. On Sunday, Tambi invited the victim to his house, threatened her and then raped her. The Wagle Estate police have filed a case of rape against Tambi.

Worker stabbed

* A labour contractor and two of his aides were arrested for stabbing and beating a worker on Sunday night at Kalyan. The police said the labourer, Ghangurde had an argument with the employer, Singh over salary which culminated into a fight. The Kolsewadi police arrested Ramakant singh, the contractor and his aides Pandharinath Pawar and Raju Shinde.

Rs 20 lakh looted

* Four men armed with revolvers robbed a private tutor of Rs 20 lakh at Vile Parle on Monday.
