Runway to close thrice a week

June 26: Beginning today, the main runway of Mumbai airport, 09/27, will be closed to air traffic between 13.30 hours to 15.15 hours on all Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays till September 30 for maintenance work. According to a spokesperson of the Airports Authority of India maintenance work is being carried out on the electrical system of the runway including the lights embedded on the runway. In addition, civil work including the painting of the runway and removal of rubber deposits is being carried out during this period. After AAI issued a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) in this regard, airlines operating out of Mumbai airport have effected changes in their operating schedules.

According to a IA press note Flight IC-657 will now leave Mumbai for Coimbatore on all days except Saturdays at 0845 hrs, IC-635 Mumbai/Bhavnagar on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays will leave at 1300 hrs and return to Mumbai at 1525 hrs. IC-689 Mumbai Vadodara/Mumbai will now leave daily at 1515 hrs and return at 1755 hrs. The Mumbai/Hyderabad Flight IC-928 has been reintroduced with departure from Mumbai daily at 1520 hrs, the flight from Hyderabad IC-927 will reach Mumbai at 1240 hrs.

The Alliance Air flights CD-179 Mumbai/Mangalore operating daily will leave at 0925 hrs, Mumbai/Rajkot Flight CD-145 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays will leave at 1000 hrs, the Mumbai/Jamnagar Flight CD-147 operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays will leave at 1310 hrs. Flight Cd-149/150 will now operate Mumbai/Bhuj/Mumbai only on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays leaving Mumbai at 1310 hrs and return Mumbai at 1550 hrs, while the Mumbai/Madurai flight CD 191/192 will leave Mumbai at 1600 hrs on Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays. The airline's Bangalore/Mumbai Airbus Flight IC-110 will now arrive at Mumbai at 1520 hrs on all days instead of the earlier 1430 hrs. Alliance Air has withdrawn its Mumbai/Aurangabad/Mumbai Flight CD-191/192 and the Mumbai/Cochin/Mumbai Flight CD 165/166, the statement added.
